A native of Austin, Texas, Prellop is a self-taught artist who has been seriously interested in painting since childhood. In fact, he won his first award at age 11. "Ever since he was a child he knew he wanted to paint. Reflecting on his subject matter, the landscapes and seascapes of Texas", Prellop says, "I grew up in Central Texas and have been surrounded by the beauty of the landscape my entire life".

His big break came within a few years after graduating high school when an art agent signed him to a contract allowing him to paint full time. Prellop's landscapes and seascapes are well known throughout Texas and the United States. His paintings are in private collections of prominent elected officials, such as former Texas Governor's Dolph Briscoe, Rick Perry and United States Congressman Kenny Marchant.

He is also represented in corporate collections of Criterion Corporation, Sounthland Corporation, and Granite Properties to just name a few.

In 1996, Prellop truly had his dream come true when he opened his own gallery in historic downtown Salado, Texas. A town steeped in Texas history and surrounded at every bend by magnificent views of the Texas landscape. In 2001, the Keep Texas Beautiful Organization chose to honor Prellop and his work as a visual link between the environmental efforts of volunteers across the state and the natural beauty of the Texas landscape.

Since opening Prellop Fine Art Gallery, his reputation has continued to flourish as he has been placed among the exclusive ranks of premier Texas landscape painters.
